CryptoTorLocker2015 Virus – Removal Instructions
CryptoTorLocker2015 is a particularly nasty type of computer infection known as ransomware. CryptoTorLocker2015 locks your files and demands a payment for letting you regain access. The payment demand is what makes it ransomware. CryptoTorLocker2015 specifically targets Windows operating systems including XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. This virus dates from early November, 2014 and is still active. It’s another CryptoGraphic Locker scam. As with other encryption viruses, the scammers offer to decrypt your files for a fee. In CryptoTorLocker2015, they offer to decrypt one file at no charge to hook you into paying for access to the rest of your files. Its display on your system show which files it has encrypted.
CryptoTorLocker2015 generally gains entry to your computer via bogus emails disguised as business communications with an invoice, bill or other apparently legitimate attachment. When you click on the attached phony PDF, it open a zip file containing the virus. The malware files install into a Windows system file and infect your computer’s registry. This cyber attack is basically a form of theft. It holds up your computer for ransom to steal money from you. Once CryptoTorLocker2015 gains access to your system, it alters your settings and startup files. It identifies data files and uses AES, a type of encryption, blocking you from opening the files.
